This winter storm, now dubbed Winter Storm Fern, has led to widespread cancellations of flights—over 16,000 as of Sunday—disrupting land-based travel across nearly 40 states. According to Royal Caribbean, this extension not only allows the ship to navigate safer waters but also gives traveling guests more time to reach the cruise terminal without additional stress.
Understanding the Altered Itinerary
Due to the delayed return, the Odyssey of the Seas will be departing for its next Southern Caribbean cruise on January 27 instead of January 26. Unfortunately, this rescheduling also means that the ship will miss two planned stops, San Juan and Charlotte Amalie. Instead, cruisers will enjoy additional sea days, allowing them to relax before embarking on the beautiful Caribbean destinations that remain in the schedule.
