A Taste of Luxury at Sea: Oceania Sonata’s Exclusive Dining
As the anticipation builds for the launch of Oceania Sonata in August 2027, food enthusiasts are particularly excited about a unique new culinary experience onboard: the exclusive restaurant, La Table Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. Set to be the only restaurant at sea recognized by the prestigious Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, this intimate venue will accommodate just 18 guests, ensuring a personalized and refined dining adventure.
At La Table, guests can expect a menu that celebrates the finest in French gastronomy, featuring delicacies such as escargot-stuffed Dover sole and elegant granny smith apple and langoustine tartlets. The venue will be helmed by Executive Culinary Directors Chef Alexis Quaretti and Chef Eric Barale, both esteemed figures in the culinary world, baring a legacy of excellence synonymous with modern luxury cruising.
Celebrating the Heritage of French Cuisine
The endorsement from Maîtres Cuisiniers de France marks a milestone in ocean dining, aiming to preserve the art of French cooking while introducing contemporary elements to a traditional cuisine. Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at Oceania Cruises, highlighted the venue’s mission: “It will be a true celebration of culinary heritage, mastery, and modern luxury.” This dedication is echoed throughout the menu, which includes signature dishes like spider crab potatoes topped with Sturia Oscietra caviar.
Moreover, La Table will feature a special Dom Pérignon dining experience, where guests can enjoy a six-course tasting menu paired with exquisite champagne vintages—an elegant touch that enhances the luxurious dining voyage.
Beyond La Table: A Culinary Journey Awaits
La Table is not the only culinary gem aboard the Oceania Sonata. The ship will also introduce the Nikkei Kitchen, blending Peruvian and Japanese flavors, alongside other favorites such as the classic French Jacques, pan-Asian Red Ginger, and the beloved steakhouse Polo Grill. This diverse dining landscape promises to cater to every palate, making the Oceania Sonata a sought-after destination for culinary travelers.
The new ship, accommodating up to 1,460 passengers, pushes the boundaries of luxury cruising, keeping in mind the evolving tastes and expectations of today’s sophisticated travelers.
